Today, the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce recognized outstanding A°¼Í¹ÊÓƵ schools and educators with awards:

  • Edmund Oropez, associate superintendent for high schools, as the 2013 Outstanding District Leader;
  • LASA for having the highest direct college enrollment rate and for the highest FAFSA application rate;
  • Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders for having 100 percent of seniors submit the Texas Common Application and for having the highest number of student survey submissions; and
  • Crockett High School for having 100 percent of seniors submit the Texas Common Application for the third year in a row.

A°¼Í¹ÊÓƵ's Superintendent Meria Carstarphen and district team members joined community and business leaders who support public education at the chamber's annual State of Education luncheon.
