The Austin independent School District’s Hispanic Futures program presents Los Años Maravillosos (the Wonder years), a new Spanish-language workshop for parents of students in grades fifth through eighth.
The workshop is 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Burnet Middle School, 8401 Hathaway Drive; and 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Garcia Middle School, 7414 Johnny Morris Road.
During the workshops, parents can discuss and share ideas for responsible parenting, effective education strategies and strengthening family bonds, to help foster their children’s success through and beyond the middle school years. The event will be facilitated by Vicente Morales, a motivational and education speaker.
The sessions are free and open to parents of students from A°¼Í¹ÊÓÆµ schools. The workshops will be presented in Spanish with English interpretation. Registration is not required.
Los Años Maravillosos is presented by the A°¼Í¹ÊÓÆµ Hispanic Futures Program with support from the A°¼Í¹ÊÓÆµ Parent Engagement and Support Office, the City of Austin and Austin Energy.
