A°¼Í¹ÊÓÆµ Adopts Summer Efficiency Schedule for Six Weeks to Save Energy

All offices and schools adopt four-day week June 23-Aug. 8; A°¼Í¹ÊÓÆµ closed June 30-July 4

Austin, Texas—The °¼Í¹ÊÓÆµ District will adopt a summer efficiency schedule for six weeks to reduce energy costs from June 23 through Aug. 8. The district’s average savings from the summer efficiency program is about $486,000.

All schools and offices will adopt a four-day week during this time. Business hours will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The district will be closed Friday.

The district also will be closed for one week from Monday, June 30, through Friday, July 4. All A°¼Í¹ÊÓÆµ offices and schools will be closed during this period. Independence Day is a holiday and employees are not scheduled to work Friday, July 4. The district will resume summer efficiency hours Monday, July 7.

A°¼Í¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s regular, five-day workweek will resume Monday, Aug. 11.

Classes for the 2014-15 school year will begin Monday, Aug. 25.
