Culture in Culinary: Superintendent Paul Cruz Tastes A°¼Í¹ÊÓÆµ's New International Menu Item

Austin °¼Í¹ÊÓÆµ Superintendent Paul Cruz invites media to highlight some of A°¼Í¹ÊÓÆµ's newest international menu items.

School lunch menus at A°¼Í¹ÊÓÆµ feature many global flavors to introduce students to new foods and provide learning opportunities about cultural foodways. Items added to the menu for this school year that will be featured at this event include vegetarian manicotti, braised lentil tostada, and a mango smoothie made with local yogurt and homemade granola. We will also be featuring carrots from Johnson's Backyard Garden and a salad bar.

Who: Superintendent Paul Cruz and Food Services Executive Director Anneliese Tanner will be visiting a cafeteria to try new items added to this year's lunch menu.

When: 12 p.m., Monday, Aug. 19

Arrive at noon for an opportunity to try the delicious mango smoothie from our A°¼Í¹ÊÓÆµ Food Truck and to enter the kitchen to film b-roll footage if needed.
